I delayed this new quite a bit but here it is, in the end the OpenGEU Blog. What is it? Quoting the site itself,
a new place were you will find a lot of news, articles, guides, rumors and a lot of interesting and cool informations, media, videos and other things about the E17, Gnome and OpenGEU world!
Visit it often, we’ll try to keep the Blog as much updated as possible. See the Legal page for informations about pictures, marks and media contained in this site.
I hope someone will help me mantaining it with fresh news, I’ll do what I can about it but the idea should be that of posting ever more interesting news about not only OpenGEU but the entire Enlightenment DR17 world 🙂
In reality, it is online since a lot of time now but I couldn’t update it, so I decided not to spread the news 😉
Hope you’ll enjoy it.
OpenGEU Developer,
Followed your guys progress since geubuntu, was really hoping the ubuntu project was gonna pick you guys up, still though great work on branching on your own. I thought you may find a new project interesting that could benefit your users. The Linux Software Search – http://www.tuxsoftware.com – It’s a web-based installation site for Ubuntu and Debian packaged software plus a lil more from our own repos. Just drop me a line from the site if you are interested in our projects working together or just have any suggestions. Thanks.
Hi, I sent you a mail and thank you for contacting me. I wish one day Ubuntu will take us in but for now things are not going in that direction for as much as I know.
HI ANGELO, I’ll answer you in English so that everyone can understand us. Sure you can already install OpenGEU on an Hardy system, just follow this instructions:
http://opengeuwiki-en.intilinux.com/index.php?title=OpenGEU_Luna_Crescente_WIP
But remember that this is the development version of OpenGEU as there’s no stable branch for Hardy at the moment. This version, anyway is based on the latest pseudo-stable E17 version and on Ubuntu, so it very stable indeed. Just expect a lot of upddates and changes as the time passes 😉
Ok, sei stato troppo gentile, proverò ad installare la versione 7.10, anche se attendo con ansia la versione che potrà essere installata su hardy heron. A tal proposito ti sarei veramente grato se quando la ultimi puoi postarmi una mail… A presto Angelo
I just installed OpenGEU (7.1) on an HP Pavillion Laptop from a LiveCD. Very smooth install. Even Gutsy did not work so well when I installed it. Wireless/LAN switching very smooth. Suspend Resume actually works! USB Sticks automount! wonderful.
Now if I could just figure out how to access my home (windows) network and other machines all would be well.

Hallo, just install opengeu-share and use pyneighborhood 🙂
Thank you.
I did not find any reference to opengeu-share in synaptic, but I did find pyNeighborhood and installed it.
I can now browse the network. and see the various ‘groups’ and ‘shares’.
But I get failure to mount whenever I try to access the shares.
Must be some sort of samba/linux security issue that needs to be resolved.
Any hints?

PS. Changing the session to GNOME allows me to use the Places menu item to browse the network and Open the shares and see/copy the files. So must not be samba, but maybe E17 or pyNeighborhood.
Sorry!I don’t speak english.
I live in Rio de Janeiro ,Brazil
The OpenGEU is perfect
Fico feliz por poder falar do OPenGEU…

When comes OpenGEU based on Ubuntun 9.04?
SOrry but we need some fixes to packages before we can release the alpha packages and iso. But we are almost there, don’t worry, please be patient, it’s not gonna be long this time 🙂
I’ve manually upgraded my OpenGEU to Ubu 9.04 and fixed the errors loading X Windows and E17 actually. It’s pretty easy to do if you’re already familiar with Linux systems/infrastructure. I plan on posting my steps to my blog soon.
Great work on OpenGEU, it’s very nice. The type of thing I was going to do on my own, until I realized someone else already did it, so why waste my time doing it again!? 😉
Happy you enjoyed it and the rel question should be: why not joining the team and help us with the project? It’s all very opened and anyone can help contributing with his work.. and we need a lot of help.
Hey there this is kinda of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding skills so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
